December is here and we are off and running! Andi and Lindsay put together an incredible training program for this, the first official "off season" month. Their vision is unparalleled and their expertise speaks for itself. This Fall, we have seen our girls break through plateaus and look better than ever! We are so excited to have a great off season and take advantage of every minute of it! We will be continuing with our telecalls that pick up again the week of December 15th. We also encourage you to enjoy the holidays and not be so hard on yourseld when it comes to nutrition! We want you to stay on point every 5 days in a row and then have an off day and then get right back onpoint! Life is short and if you go through this month, trying to be "perfect", you will fail..its as simple as that! So portion control is KING this month!
In other news, we are moving and enlarging our studio space here in Massachusetts and our grand opening of the new studio will take place January 3rd~ how exciting! A new facility marks a new era in Cathy Savage Fitness! The best is yet to come and I expect BIG things from all of you!

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I am so thankful for everyone who is in my life. I have the best teammates in the world. You all are truly unique, amazing and inspirational. I also want to thank my husband John who supports me with whatever crazy project I am working on and who is an incredible Dad to the "other" loves of my life-Ryan and Tori. My children are the air that I breathe and they are the sweetest angels. I am also grateful and thankful that my parents are with me still, as well as my brothers, sister and my extended family as well. It has been a tough year with my Dad experiencing health issues off and on. Right now, he is doing well and I am so grateful. It has been a rollercoaster but this beautiful man is a fighter. I am blessed to have a beautiful loving family and I know that many of you out there may no longer talk to your relatives for whatever reason. My advice to you is that no matter what, a blood line is important. Take the time to mend your ways and reach out to them. If they are your parents, dont ever let a day go by without telling them you love them. Have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving everyone!

Congratulations to all the atheles that competed this weekend! The weekend started with a fun plane ride to Boston with many of my Savage sisters. We were greeted at the hotel by one of my coaches Celia Thompson as well as Tyler, who is in charge of our reality show which is filming and being developed! It wasnt the best feeling in the world, having stepped off a plane and then having a camera in my face. I mean, does anyone ever look good after a flight? Well the day started bright and early with registration, seeing all my friends (old and new) and then photo shoots, promotions, meetings etc. Later in the day, we gathered for the annual Savage shoot at the Bellagio which was incredibly inspirational. It was amazing. I was brought to tears seeing all these beautiful women together- the bond that was there, was something that seemed to come from a higher presence. When the fountains came on, it was sheer magic. After the shoot, my staff went out for a staff dinner at the Bellagio. It was wonderful sitting out, looking at the fountain show once again. It was an emotional dinner as we all were so grateful to be a part of each others lives as well as our team. We talked about many of you girls who were competing and the joy you bring to our lives. Its truly magical. Later we went to see "LOVE" at the Mirage, before our team meeting. The team meeting was a wonderful experience where all the sisters got a nice gift from their coaches and we reminded the girls that this event was a gift and the winners are the girls who walk away with love and memories in their heart! Friday, the show began and through Saturday night, it was simply a beautiful display of gorgeous women from all over the world. Congratulations to all the girls who competed, whether they were Savage Girls or not. I want to give a shout out especially to Tiffani Bachus for winning Fitness Tiff is like a sister to me and I am blessed to have her as our official "registered dietician". To see her in the top 5 with Annette, Amber and Katie was so inspirational as she has a watchful eye on the nutritional needs of the entire team! Even after her win backstage, she was already meeting with Amber about her post show needs. That is the type of woman she is. I could go on and on about all the placings such as Lori Harder in bikini, Annette Perry, Janelle Nicole, Jess Kenney, Barb Server, Laura Kobar,Jodi Harrison,-you see I can on an on so I cant possibly name all the placings so instead, I want to congratulate EVERY woman on that stage. You all have your own story- such as Maria C -my teammate who learned about a serious diagnosis prior to this show, yet still came to Vegas and strutted her stuff onstage. And Lea N who just got back from Iraq and wanted to be a part of this journey and shined when she appeared! To all of you, embrace and take in this journey and remember it. Take it from a gal who is well into her mid 40's.... this is a time that you wil fondly look back on and remember. Make your memories and savor every minute... its a true gift...And remember, the 2010 season is just around the corner!! CAMP SAVAGE is January 29,30,31 in Boston-learn every aspect of how to prepare for shows the RIGHT way from the original camp in its 14th year. Look for weekly postings here on how to get through the offseason! Its an important time of year ladies so keep yourself in check!!

We are off and running today to Las Vegas for the Fitness America World Championships. I am looking forward to seeing our teammates from all over the world and a fun time is guaranteed for sure! We are also being folowed by reality show cameras so Im not sure if they know what they are in for! The weekend has somany turns and twists-it cant be described! One thing for sure is that I am beaming with pride over my girls! They look fantastic as always but Im so proud to be with these smart, funny and caring women! Sure there are many people who say "how can these girls all love each other"- well they do... we are positive women who support one another.. this makes negative people uncomfortable and thats sad. We are good people, who give back to our community and help each other through those challenging days! So give a shout out to the gals competing this weekend in Vegas as well in Florida! Lets go have fun girls!

NOTE: THIS IS A REPLAY FORM EARLIER IN THE YEAR BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS WORTH READING AGAIN SEEING THAT WE ARE SO CLOSE TO THE END OF 2009!!!

If you attended Sunday session last week, you know what this phrase means. Sometimes things happen at a workshop, a camp, a session, that makes me turn off the music and get down and dirty. For those of you who werent there (which is the majority of you) I will fill you in. As Lil P and I watched and critiqued the gals who were posing, we both noticed the same thing- here are 20 beautiful girls who look as though they are lost when it comes to presentation and confidence. I couldnt take it anymore and I said to Lil P, "I feel like shutting off the music and telling them how I feel". Lil P says "when has this ever stopped you?". Well, as Lil P knows me so well, I did just that. I gathered the girls together and said- basically "whats up". Why arent you confident? Why arent you feeling fabulous? When I talk this way, its not rehearsed, its raw and its straight from my heart. So it just comes out. I love you and all I really want is for you all to see what I see. I see some amazing people who are all, exceptional in so many aspects of their life. But when it comes to their appearance, they cringe. I remember a few years ago, watching Hillary Clinton getting interviewed. She was so well versed on every subject. She spoke with such confidence and passion. But when the interviewer asked her about her weight, she immediately sounded like every woman out there- unsure, ashamed and lost. I will never forget that moment and it reminded me of my recent Sunday session. Whether you compete or not, we all have had these feelings. Why do we let our opinion of ourselves rest on our abs or how tight our butt is? Why cant we look at ourselves first, from a more personal view- we are professionals, we are good students, we are great moms, we do well at our job, we are good daughters, we ALL are good at so much. Why do we let this "image of what we think we need to look like" rule us? Well, for those of you who compete, if you think your upcoming competiton is about your BODY, you are dead wrong. Its about charisma, the IT factor. Its about confidence and showmanship. Sure Savage Sister Lindsay Messina has a great body but thats not why she wins her competitions and graces the cover of magazines. She wins and gets the jobs because of her confidence, her charisma and her fierceness. This is what a winner is made up of- you are not a set of abs- you are not a pair of great legs- and once you GET this, you will have success. You need to be sure of yourself. You need to look inside of what you have done in your life and what you have accomplished outside of all this fitness stuff. For it is then and only then, where you will feel like you are one with yourself. When you walk onstage, the judges want to see charisma and a gal who isnt worried if her butt is too big or her abs are tight-they want to see a person who feels good in her own skin-this will make them DROP THEIR PENCILS as I have done in the past when I have judged shows. When I see that certain person come on stage and they are a sight to see, I drop the pencil and I enjoy their walk, their grace and their uniqueness! And those bright lights see right into your soul so unless you truly believe in yourself, you cant hide it! This doesnt apply soley to competitors. Its the same in life--when you walk into a room, your charisma is what makes you memorable. Stop worrying about your body and focus on your beliefs, your confidence and that certain something that makes you YOU

NO LIMITS!

its hard to believe but FlORIDA and VEGAS (the last shows of the year are almost here!). We are so excited to watch our girls from all over the world congregate and look their best onstage! As a MOM to all of you, my pride runs deep and this year, its bubbling over for so many reasons. Many wonderful things have happened in my business that tested me, as a coach. My teammates have shown me their faith, dedication and love for what we are all about.
You have also been tested but you were smart enough to realize that this TEAM began over 15 years ago. Our rise to success came a long time ago.....MTV came LONG before this year...... our victories came LONG before this year......The reason why I built this team was that I truly wanted to take an otherwise selfish sport and make it a "group activity and hobby". I chose "team and value" over "quick" money and personal gain". My love for this sport grew at its inception and it has never "waivered". I dont want to hear "Im burnt out" or "Im too tired"......Working with you all is a gift and I dont take it lightly. So I want to thank those who have tested me... Your departure gave ME back MY voice. It reminded me of WHY I do this and WHY I adore you all! It reminded me why I scream and yell for you all at shows when others would just "sit and watch"....I cant wait to see you all shine onstage! You all worked so hard to look this good and to get where you are! Competing is FUN and its time to soar... there is no limit ladies to what you can do, and I thank EVERYONE for reminding me that the same is true for me as well!

What a difference a month makes. October is here and we are talking Fall goals that are fast approaching. For me, I am busy with the kids and all their activities of course, all while programming, making my team look ultra fabulous, networking the industry for my girls with Lindsay Messina, my partner in crime and dealing with drama here there and everywhere. Change is always a good thing and I am so proud of the way my staff has come together to provide the most incredible service and programming to our girls. Working along side Lil P, Ceal,Lindsay, Rachel, Janelle, Mel, Cinthia, Jayme, Andi, Tiff and Erin has shown me what its like to have a staff thats positive and "in it" for the right reasons. They are loyal, passionate, classy and have the strongest character. I am truly blessed to be around them and have never experienced such a strong bond thats true and genuine. It has been so awesome talking to my clients on our teleseminars each week. We tackle a different topic all the time and its amazing to hear all the great questions and quite frankly the love from all of you! We look forward to such excitement in the months ahead! Reality tv is interested in us and this time, its going to be pretty big for the Savage Girls! More on that to follow soon! Stay tuned and check back often!

SAVAGE 101

Happy Monday all! Well, this is one busy week for sure! The end of the month means busy times for the CSF staff! Finalizing training programs, nutritional changes for some gals, goal meetings and tending to the needs of our clients as we head to the next month. August is a weird month for sure-Show wise, its when the girls know they have to start buckling down for the Fall seaosn yet its far enough away to maybe sneak in a treat or two! Well, girls, keep it real and know that moderation is key!! Our Perfect Body Online program is also starting next month- very exciting!

Friday, July 24, 2009

Its the weekend! woo-hoo! While most people rest on the weekend, my work schedule heats up1 I have clients to meet with, programs to develop, calls to make, promoters to contact all while making sure my kids are having a great Summer! Today was their last day of their day camp! Next is tennis camp for my son and Boston Ballet camp for my daughter~ These kids are very scheduled but I need to make sure they have some down time too! I could benefit from taking my own advice! Taking the time to rest and unplug is important to all of us! Its the best way to stay refreshed! I am more than excited to have my friend and fitness icon and wise-woman Andi Martin join our staff as a coach. She is one of the most respected competitors in the industry and everyone loves her! She is a very experienced coach already and she has a masters in Exercsie Physiology. She is also a Mom, and she has killer abs! So glad to have her around more! Janelle Nicolo is also adding more time to her schedule with us! In addition to coaching her fellow Savage Girls, she is also the PR Director for Perfect Body Online, our exciting new program with Lindsay Messina. In other news, Jayme is coming back to do consulting work with us! She just graduated from Boston University with her MBA and she is going to help us with admin management and marketing brand efforts within the industry which directly benefits our girls!

Monday, July 20, 2009

Starting the week off right with our addition of our You Tube tv channel! Each week, I will be doing a min-news segment to report industry information as well as Team news! The next big event in Savage Land is in August with our two CAMPS! Chicago and Boston will be the place to be! Also, I am announcing our ambassador academy for September! So much stuff going on! In other news, fitness icon Andi Martin is joining our staff for SPT girls to help Paula and I coach our fitness girls to glory! Andi is incredible and I cant wait for her to be a more active part of our staff!

Monday, July 13, 2009

I am so happy that the Savage Ambassador weekend went so well! We are already planning our September academy as well as a January one! I am pumped that we will be in every state soon and all Savage Girls will be able to connect on a regular basis with their teammates! Love it! I coujldnt have asked for a better bunch of girls!

Tuesday, July 7, 2009

Happy Tuesday all! I spent a good part of the day talking on the phone to new clients as well as meetings with staff and phone conferences with some pretty important industry personnel and that was before lunch! lol...
Things are really happening for the Savage team and as always, making sure the Savage Girls stick to their goals and keep their eye on the prize, all is well! I am looking forward to August with our online programs opening back up after a summer break as well as my project with Lindsay Messina properly titled "Perfect Body Online". I have some ideas but I want to hear from you!

Sunday, July 5, 2009

I just got home from a 24 hour vacation into the beautiful city of Boston with my family! We stayed in a beautiful hotel and watched the fireworks, hung out at the Boston Common and of course, rocked out to Neil Diamond on the Esplanade. For you soap opera fans, I sat right next to Jacob Young from All My Children, who I fondly remember as "Lucky" on General Hospital. I didnt want to bother him as he was at our hotel with his beautiful wife and new baby. He was so dear and sweet to his wife and child and so polite to the staff. SO, I am now a fan of him big time because of his lack of celebrity attitude and his kindness to his wife, little boy the hotel staff! What struck me, more than anything, was the quality of his skin! lol.. Anyway, I did what any Savage Girl would do- I texted Soap expert Amy Kasden to share the news with her as I knew she would appreciate the "sighting".
As my 7 year old son said to me, "Mom, its time to unplug and give a hug", I certainly did that!! Thats my kids' sign when they think I am working too much! We had a great time and I am more energized and revived to start a new work week! I hope you all had a great weekend and that you feel the same refreshing vibes that I do!

Friday, July 3, 2009

Happy 4th of July all! I am looking forward to spending a great weekend with my family! Safe travels to everyone and remember that Freedom isnt free. Many people have sacrificed so much for our independence! On this day and every day, we celebrate our independence!

Wednesday, July 1, 2009

July is here! We were busy today working on new programs and getting ready to discuss client goals for the Fall. After all, that is the most important thingfor a competitor or even a weekend waarrior- you have to have a goal!

My day started out with meeting Jodi and discussing special projects that Jodi will be undertaking this Fall. She is dead-set on solving the perils of metabolic repair and if there is anyone who can do it, its her! Its exciting to look ahead and see all the wonderful possibilities in store. I am excited to see all the great things that Jodi will be handling.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Paula and I are planning our Chicago camp along with the help of Nicole Moneer, Lori Harder, Amber Ameredes and a host of others! We also have Boston camp this August as well.

On another note, Lindsay and I are kicking off Perfect Body Online homework edition this month-anyone who joined during the month of June is given nice little homework assignments before the program officially kicks off.

So needless to say, Savage-Land is busy and as vibrant as ever. I love the sport of fitness and transforming people-both physically and emmotionally through an incredible organic and natural approach. And its hittijng home too-the other day, while in the supermarket, I reached for some fruit, and my 7 year old says "mom, I dont think thats the organic brand" . Go figure!

Monday, June 29, 2009

Sorry to not have posted in a while! Its been so busy getting back from Miami, getting the kids ready for camp and just doing what I do! We get back from one major show and I am already planning the goals for my clients as the Fall approaches- talk about wishing the whole Summer away!

Monday, June 22, 2009

What a crazy weekend! Savage Girls rocked the Fitness Universe winning Fitness, Fitness Classic, Bikini Short, Bikini classicm, Bikini Masters and a whole lot of placings in between! I will post the results once I unpack! We had a great time! Congrats to Brooke Johnson Griffen who finally won Fitness Universe-she is one of the most talented and beautiful athletes on the planet and I know how hard she worked. It was a labor of lobve for both of us but it was Brooke who rose above her comfort level to take on this BRAVEHEART routine! Annette Perry rocked her routine as well=she is a consistent performer and she has my heart and soul. I love you Annette. Andi Martin (I think we really are related somehow) placed 3rd in fitness and rocked her biker girl routine-despite some costume malfunctions, she managed to get into the top 5 due to her raw talent, beauty, class and experience as one of the best of the best! I love you Andi! Special shout outs to Amy Cambell who won Fitness Classic as well! All our Classic girls placed int he top 5 as well Again, look for the results, to be posted soon here! I am pooped but back on track to making you all look fit, fabulous, healthy and empowered!

SAVAGE GIRLS IN MIAMI

We are here in Miami having a great time! I just got back to my room after spending the day with the girls! What fun!! We had meetings, photo shoots, the annual Savage Shoot and the model seminar! The show begins tomorrow morning! I will have reports all weekend!!

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

BUSY BUSY BUSY

Well we are a few hours away from the Miami madness! Soon, the whole team from all over the country, Canada and yes even Japan, will all congregate in the sunshine state. Every year, this show gets a little more exciting. The show itself is only one part of the weekend for Savage Girls. We keep our girls so busy with shoots, fun, and yes -the sun (with sunscreen) of course that the show is not the pivotal part of the weekend. For me, its time to be with my team, have fun and celebrate our hard work. Going to this show is like going to a family reunion as there are so many people affiliated with this show, that I have known for over a decade. From the photographers to the other competitors who may not work with me, but are dear friends- its just the best time!
The girls all look incredible and thats really all I can do at this point. Judging is -what it is so I never try to worry about it. No matter what the outcome is, the girls are the stars all weekend and are made to feel like ROCK STARS! So if you are in Miami, and we havent met, please dont hesitate to introduce yourself!

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

Sorry for the delay in my blog! It a busy time here at Cathy Savage Fitness. New York rocked with Kelly J taking home the overall Bikini title. We also kicked butt at the INBF show in fitness and bikini including Janice callahan's continued winning streak. Its a beautiful to see my girls who are supplement free and drug free taking the stage and getting praise and honors. I do not know why women take fat burners, do double cardio and put their bodies in danger with metabolic and hormonal risk from extreme preparations. Well, we do not judge- rather, we are advocates for women's health.
Ok, on to the week ahead, we are busy getting ready for Miami next weekend. We have alot planned-its going to be a jam packed weekend with media events, photo shoots and the show itself. I am looking forward to seeing all my teammates from around the country. What an incredible group you all are!

Friday, June 5, 2009

Weekend!!

Saturday morning, I head to New York City for business and fun! I will catch up with Messina, as we cheer on our gals in the NPC Bikini show. Meanwhile back at the ranch, Jodi will be at the INBF show checking on our girls there! We spread out when we need to! Looing forward to seeing the girls at Sunday session as well!

Nutrition Headquarters at CSF

Well our Nutrition Seminar was an amazing hit! 80 girls attended this event on a Sunday afternoon to hear Jodi Jones C.S.C.S. and our Physique Transformation Engineer speak on the effects of long term dieting, and how to separate yourself from being just a "body". We talked about all the fads and dangers of products in the industry that you do not need and how we all as women, have to be smart about our long term health. It was an incredible day and all the topics really hit home! We look forward to our teleseminar for all the gals that missed this one-we will announce the dates later this week! If you are local, come and join us each Sunday from 12-2 for a great workout and posing/presentation skills!

Sunday, May 31, 2009

Today is our Nutrition seminar! We just had breakfast with our gals from Chicago and now we are heading over for Sunday session and then the seminar! Alot going on in Savage-Land!

Friday, May 29, 2009

Weekend of Girl-Power!

oooh! This weekend will be estrogen filled at my studio! We have 8o plus women coming to our No-Nonsence Nutrition seminar! The response has been off the hook and I am not surprised! We will be getting down and dirty and RAW about what you ladies are capable of, and oh the realities of what heavy duty dieting can do... its not pretty ladies-and you will walk away with a better understanding of what dieting is all about- the good and the bad.. and the REAL.. you think you know..but you have no idea........ cant wait! For the folks that cant make this soldout event, we plan a teleseminar in late June! so stay tuned!

REMEMBER TODAY THAT FREEDOM ISNT FREE

Today, and everyday, remember the brave men and women of our armed services who have given their lives in the name of freedom. We have men and women on our team who are stationed in Iraq, Afganistan and other parts of the world. We love you all and we are thinking of you!

Sunday, May 24, 2009

We had a great sunday session today! new girls, and vets alike. You girls rock. I am happy to report Stacy C placed top 5 at the jr usa's in So Carolina, and Savage South Coach Celia Thompson coached fitness class B winner Nikki C to a win there. Andi Martin won Ms Fitness Iron City in Pittsburgh. A great weekend all around. I am on my way home to see if we can manage a cookout despite the sudden rain?

Saturday, May 23, 2009

On my way to the studio for a long but inspirational day with my teammates!

Friday, May 22, 2009

Kids are home today as there way too many kids at their school who are sick. I figure whats one day when you are in first grade and pre-k! Thank God for blackberries so when I email you today, be patient! LOL.. I am likely answering you while swimming with the kiddies! LOL.. well, thank goodness for my talent of multi-tasking! Anyway, I am looking forward to next weekend and the crazy no-nonsence nutrition seminar we have planned. I am also glad that we are scheduling the teleseminar version of it as well. We want all our teammates to be a part of it. The cool thing is that many girls flew in for it but we know that all of you cant do that so we will make the next one a teleseminar for sure! We have had plenty of these seminars before but this one has so much more energy for some reason. I think a part of the reason is that we are all so tired of hearing about all the harm and dangers of all these products and programs out there. Its time to set the record straight and put HEALTH first!

I know a thing or two about making IDOLS!

Happy Thursday! Well I watched American idol last night and I mu8st say I am bummed out that Adam didnt win. Kris is good and Ilike him but he sounds like everyone else on the radio. I think I actually had guys in my high school music groups who sang like him- GOOD but forgettable. I like him though and I wish him well. But ADAM is a star! (and you all know how I feel about star power!) its a beautifuul thing- He will be an incredible star just like Chris Daughtry so perhaps this is a blessing in disguise! now he doest have to make a certain type of CD- he can have more freedom so again, everything happens for a reason. best of luck to both of them. I honestly was cheering for Danny all season long. He was clearly my favorite- and not because he looks like my pal, Dave Follansbee-NPC New England Chairman. I loved Danny's story of overcoming tragedy and experiencing triumph. Danny lost his wife to a heart problem, 4 weeks before trying out for IDOL. What an amazing journey he has been on and I WILL buy his CD! Oh well, IDOL is over but not to worry- now its on to my all time favorite show ever-SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE- it starts tonight! totally cant wait! its a Savage Girl fav! Have a great day all!

May 20th is my 8 year wedding anniversary! It doesnt seem possible that eigtht years ago today, I got married to my incredible hubby. Eight years later we have two kids, ages 7 and 5 and they are the reason I wake up every morning. As I always say, my life began the day I became a MOM and my life was pretty awesome even before then! Nothing is better than being a wife and MOM. John enables me to balance it all- being a business owner and having a personal life. I couldnt do it without him. He is a huge supporter of Cathy Savage Fitness and he has been with me every step of the way. We both waited a long time to get married and whn we did it, it was RIGHT! He believes in my decisions and my loyalty to my clients who are like my daughters. As a business man, he respects my ethics of not trying to hit my clients up with endless sales pitches and useless products. He really believes in what we have accomplished and our "good girl" message. So thank you Johnny for being strong enough to be married to a strong woman. So many men couldnt handle it but you do it with ease!

Throw in the fact that my kids are busy as well so following their absolute cuteness is the higlight of my day! Mad props to husband of the year (my hubby) for not only having his own successful career but for being there for me and the kids and for understanding this crazy fitness life I lead.

I spent a great deal of time letting these girls know how beautiful they are- and to stop worrying about tghe small stuff! I wish these ladies could see what I see!! As women we are all so hard on ourselves and as we reach for that PERFECT BODY, we need to see the good things that is in each and every one of us!

I hope all the Moms out there had a happy Mothers day yesterday! I am back from DC after a whirlwind trip that was go go go!Anyway, we had quite a weekend. The reports from all the shows are still coming in but we had multiple placements and wins all over the country. Winning at the MaggieFit in Rhode Island, winning at the NPC Contra Costa bikini and nearlyh sweeping the FAP Capital show in DC just to name a few. I will be reporting more once I unpack my bags and get rolling! I am so proud of all the girls that competed this weekend! From newbies to veterans, you girls rocked the house and just make me so incredibly honored to know you all as family! A special shout out to Jodi, our physique Transformation Engineer, who drove on Saturday to Rhode Island to the MaggieFit, tanned, and glazed you ladies up, gave you love and slapped your butts down, watched the show, gace me the play by play on the phone, then left right from there and drove 8 hrs to Maryland. Call it the motherly instinct of this amazing woman but I know you all appreciate her efforts to not only making you all beautiful but for caring so deeply and always giving 100%!

Happy Friday all. I will be heading to Virginia tomorrow for a very quick trip. The Fitness America Capital show takes place on Mothers Day. I am not stoked about being away from my family and my own Mom on that special day but to me, every day is Mothers Day as I get to be with my two most favorite little people in the world as much as I want. Yes, I am also a MOM to many competitors as well. SO my motherly instincts jump into motion wherever I am. So to all the MOMS out there, have a wonderful day- you deserve it!

This picture you see is from one of our infamous Savage Shoots that we do annually in Miami in June and then on the West Coast (LA or Vegas) in November. Its a great way to many of us to get together and have fun! Its not always ALL the Savage girls as we are a very BIG team but for the gals who attend or who are competing in the events in Miami and Vegas, its a great motivator! I cant wait for the upcoming shoot this June in Miami! The only question is- which suit to wear?

What a weekend!

First I have to say that Darcy Cain, placed top 5 in Miss New Hampshire which is part of the Miss America organization. I am so happy for this gal! She is gorgeous, wholesome and everything a young woman should be- brains and beauty inside and out! Sunday, I went to the Jay Cutler NPC show here in Boston and the bikini division made quite a splash. I want to thank Dave Follansbee and Maggie Blanchard, with Jim Decotis and staff for making this a great show. The girls had a blast backstage and after all-thats the best part! Annette took 1st in bikini, Lori Harder took 2nd, Kelly McNeil placed 3rd, Janet Harding placed 4th and Lindsay Pearson placed 5th. For Fitness, Nik Bonigovani placed first. It was quite an emotional moment for us both when a year ago this time, Nikki wasnt sure if her life would ever be the same. She couldnt even feel her arms as she was suffering from a disease that presented like Sarcoidosis/or rheumatoid arthritis. To see her back is probably the highlight of my fitness life this year so far! Annette took second and rocked the house followed by Stacy Curcio, coming off from a win in New York. Stacy rocked the house with her Prince routine and is on her way to a PRO card, I just can feel it. Congrats to Regina Blais as well who placed top 5-she is a great person and it was so nice to see her at this show. She did a great job! All the athletes were nice, warm, friendly.. cant say enough.. our figure girls did great including Audra Hill who won her class and Jen Barry who took 3rd or 4th-not sure as I was trying to help out backstage so this part of thie show was a blur! I will have more later! Now we look to the Maggie Fit this saturday and then the DC FAP show this Sunday!

Its Saturday am and I off to a 5 year old b-day party for one of my daughter's friends and then off to the studio for appts. I am excited about tonights finals for Miss New Hampshire and seeing Darcy Cain vie for the crown! More later!

May is kicking off! We develpoed some great programming for this month for all our members and I am excited to see how they all like it! Meanwhile, I am in JOHN MADDON mode as I am reviewing clips (videos) of my girls posing styles and fine tuning each and every move, bumb, twist and turn. I am doing the same with routines. Perfection is a subjective statement but not to me... what my idea of perfection is, is not the same as someone else. Presentation must be 100% on.. I can tell from two steps if this or that gal is going to nail her presentation. Its funny, when Annette Perry walked out on stage last week (two steps) and Jodi and I looked at each other and said "SHE'S ON".. Funny how you just know.. the lights hide nothing and if you are inhibited or unsure of yourself, they gobble you right up. Reviewing their performances year after year truly helps me to pull the champion from within and I know that all their hard work and practice pays off royally. So we have the NPC New Englands on Sunday which will be a great show as always. I have been going to this show since its beginnings. (when there was no fitness or figure)-just bodybuilding. Jim DeCotis puts on a great event and Head Judge Dave Follansbee is incredibly organized. They also do a great job at making sure the athletes feel great about themselves. So I will be back with updates from the show!

Monday, April 27, 2009

Well, today, I met with my client Darcy who is preparing for this weekend's Miss New Hampshire pageant. Darcy is gorgeous and she sings better than the folks on American Idol.. It is a joy to work with Darcy and I am looking forward to expanding our Pageant prep system since its going so well. Later, I picked up the kids, went to Karate and then home! Tonight I will be programming some Savage Summer programming and also assessing my notes from the Atlantic show this past weekend. I look forward to getting together with Lil P and Jodi so we can compare notes from the show. The thing about having a staff like I have, is that we have worked together for so long- we have this show stuff down to a science. I go back and forth all day- audience and backstrage.. Jodi sits and takes notes on EVERY competitor-and Lil P text messaghes our gals backstage with instant feedback if necessary- for example, I remember a hair piece was the slighest bit out of place so Lil P texted her backstage and the next time onstage, this galw as flawless.. its a great system to have us all doing different things... exhausting but I love love love what I do.... cant wait to gear up again this weekend! I am also pumped for our MENS members who competed this weekend- Rob, our MENS coach is the bomb diggety and knows how to get these guys in mint condition. Total fun!

I JUST GOT BACK FROM THE ATLANTIC! We won fitness, model, bikini, bikini classic and our guys placed in bodybuilding! It was a whirlwind weekend. When we arrived on Friday, Lil P, Kelly Schrek and I put the opening number together. It was really fun to get even the non-dancers to get their groove on. I love this part of the show as it gives the athletes more stage time! It was great to have Lindsay Messina, on hand to help with Kelly and of course, Lil P and Jodi.. we always have a great time at these shows! I am oh so proud of our team vets but wow, our newbies rocked the house with their stage presence! Practice makes perfect and theres nothing better than being prepared! pictures are coming... I am totally in love with my team and I thank them for letting me be part of their experience. I am looking forward to the NPC New Englands this coming weekend. HERE WE GO AGAIN!

Well, this is the first entry of my new BLOG! For those of you who dont know me, you can always check out the content of my website. www.cathysavagefitness.com. There, you will see the most beautiful healthy fit women in the world- of all ages, backgrounds, and sizes. Being a coach on MTV and turning a frumpy yet adorable Harvard student into a gorgeous fitness model helped the world see what was going on at "Cathy Savage Fitness". I have been coaching women to be "their best" since the early 1990's and having competed in fitness myself, I knew what needed to be accomplished-not just with training and nutrition but what a woman needed to feel worthy enough, and empowered enough to make her fitness goals come true. The coolest thing is to see a woman come into my office, who has no idea what plans I have in store for her. In her wildest dreams, she has no idea that she can turn herself into a gorgeous model or just maybe even the most fit woman at her kids' PTA meeting- whatever the goal, I love making it happen. Industry folks call me the "Idol maker"... I would rather just say I am a gal who loves to be around postitive strong minded people who are tired of feeling bad for themselves and who now want to "pullup their bra straps" and take life by the &^%s.
